Passage Thru India @ Jalan Delima, KL
If you’re looking for great Indian cuisine when you’re eating out,
this is the right restaurant for you!!
Located in the heart of the city, Passage Thru India is a legendary
and being voted as one of Best Indian
Restaurant in TimeOut KL Award 2013. The restaurant carries and magnificent
selection of 127 Northern and Southern Indian dishes in their menu.
This restaurant may look very simple on the outside, but the
wonderful interior will definitely blew you away - rich in both colors and
texture with various shades of Indian textile, crafts, arts and designs.
We were served with……..
Mango Lassi [RM6.50] and Jal Jeera [RM5.50]
Chicken Dhum Biryani [RM24] – One
of the best biryani rice in town – completed with one whole juicy thigh
underneath and flavorsome grains of biryani rice on top.
Kashimiri Lollipops [RM8] – juicy,
sweet and savory, well-seasoned and caramelized sticks of chicken. I have to
admit, these Kashimiri lollipops were the bomb!!!!
Rogan Josh [RM22] – one of my favorite dishes of
the day – the juicy and tender mutton chunks fused together with a blend of 16
herbs and spices of curry – excellent!!!
Palak Paneer [RM16] – this dish could be one of the
healthiest Indian dishes around – creamy spinach and cottage cheese cooked in a
garlic flavored sauce.
Murgh Tikka Butter Masala [RM22] – also
known as Butter Chicken – boneless chicken roasted in a tandoori clay oven,
then cooked in masala. I wasn’t huge on these Butter Chicken.
Tawa Masala [RM24/each] – the tiger prawns were
grilled to perfection and coated in a crisp masala batter. I couldn’t imagine
eating this as part of Prawn Noodle dish……..would have been great too!!!
Mixed Kebab [RM45] – came with 4 types of tandoori
meats – chicken, fish, mutton and prawns. These kebab surprisingly moist and
eating with the mint sauce made the experience complete.
Grilled Juicy Lamb Ribs [RM60] – marinated
in the Chef’s Special sauce for 24 hours, these ribs were tender, tasty, and
strip right off it’s bone. Seriously, its killing me!!!!!!!
Garlic Naan [RM6], Kashmiri Naan [RM8], Butter Naan [RM6] and Prata [RM6] – those naan were excellent - fluffy and light charred.if you would like to
try something special or maybe you are a berries lover, I would recommend Kashmiri Naan whereby it
came with dried cherries and raisins – Superb!!!
Kulfi [RM9] – saffron and almond flavored
Indian ice cream.
Gajar Ka Halwa [RM7] – grated carrot simmered in fresh
milk.
Overall Rating: 8/10. Frankly
speaking, I really enjoy the experience of dining in the midst of all vintage
charm and clutter, alongside delicious Indian food!!For dinner patrons, there’s
a live band plays from 8pm onwards. Once again, if you’re looking for a good
Indian restaurant in Klang Valley, Passage Thru India would not disappoint you.
P.S. – there’s also a banquet hall for group bookings or events.
