M1Star Café @ Damansara Uptown, PJ

It was one of the lazy Saturday noon and I was invited by my “sister” for lunch at Japanese Western Delights restaurant in Damansara Uptown – M1Star Café

M1Star Café, a fairly new café opened in June 2015, is the sister outlet of the famed One Star Café in Malacca (fyi, One Star Café was led by a Michelin Star Chef). The menu here shares similar concept to that of its original outlet – simple and delicious.

So, let’s get started with……….

 Salmon Butter Garlic Teriyaki [RM16.90] – a simple dish served with steamed vegetables, side salad and rice. The fish itself was fresh but was slightly overcooked. 

Seafood Donburi [RM20.90] – it came with rice underneath together with multi-layer of Japanese sauce – don sauce beneath and teriyaki glaze on top. Moreover, there are variety of seafood (prawns, squid, crabmeat stick, enoki and vegetables) arranged neatly on an egg. 

Roasted Tomato Sauce Chicken [RM18.90] – a quarter chicken was cooked to tender sitting in a hearty pool of fresh tomato and vegetable sauce – one word to describe – Delicious!!!!

Butter Garlic Crème Chicken [RM15.90] – one of the BEST dish of the day!!!! The chicken was well marinated with secret spices and a pinch of sugar while the butter garlic crème on the other hand was not too rich and savory on its own. It was sweet and savory, crispy yet buttery when eaten all together!!!! 

Ice Teas

 Overall Rating: 7/10.  I had a great and enjoyable meal here today. The Japanese dishes are served on black plates while the Western dishes are on the white ones. I have to admit, they did great on their sauce – especially butter garlic crème. The only downside – brown and white interior and exterior settings; a cozier and brighter settings perhaps.
