Xenri D’ GardenTerrace @ Menara Hap Seng, Jalan P. Ramlee

Japanese food~~~~Why I’m craving for Japanese food during my lunch? I’m indeed fortunate to get invited by my friend (who’s a doctor work in Menara Hap Seng) for dinner – Japanese food for dinner (Wohoo!! J).

Xenri D’ Garden Terrace

For me, Menara Hap Seng is just an office tower and with a few restaurants located on Ground Floor. I’m really surprised that my friend told me there is a fine dining Japanese restaurant – Xenri, one of the fine dining restaurants offers finest with freshness and creativity Japanese cuisine.

I felt an oasis of tranquility and sophisticated dining atmosphere when I was walking into the restaurant. This Japanese restaurant offers their guests to dine in calm surroundings with the relaxing music.

Let the pictures speak for themselves.

Kicking start my dinner with a set of complimentary appetizer – small tomato cubes sitting in a pool of sweet and sour sauce together with dashimaki-tamago egg (tasted really good and made me wanna ask for more~~~!!!).

Hawaiian Maki [RM35]

An unexpected dish that I surprisingly enjoyed. The freshness of the breaded giant prawn rolls matches well with the sweetness of mango – my favorite dish of the night!!!

Ebi Taempura [RM36]

These prawns which had been glazed in batter kinda letdown me – slightly oily for me. However, I have to say that the tempuras’ nicely crisp and fresh.

Kaisen Kimchee Nabe and Chicken Teppan Zen [RM45]

The set came with a dish of Kimchee Nabe, Japanese steam egg (chawanmushi), pan grilled chicken, rice, miso soup and a plate of fresh lychee. I have to say that this Kimchee Nabe was flavoursome – tastes like spicy-sour taste of kimchee cooked with miso soup. It was savory with a tinge of sweetness and not all spicy-sour. Moreover, the chawanmushi (as smooth as silk), miso soup (wasn’t too salty nor too watered), and fresh lychee (fresh and juicy) were tasted really good too.

Overall Rating: 8/10. I had great expectations of my meal and was not disappointed and also memorable dining experience. The Hawaiian Maki was a great idea and interesting; the Kaisen Kimchee Nabe and Chicken Teppan Zen was flavoursome; the complimentary appetizer was great too. I would definitely recommend and revisit Xenri again!!!!!!
