There are plenty of celebration in the month of June and July (Father’s Day, School Holidays, etc.). But the most excitement to us would be the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil – which only happen once in a four years’ time. Be prepared for the World Cup Fever~~~~~~

Good news for steaks lovers and Tony Roma’s fans!!!! In conjunction with 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, Tony Roma’s bringing in FOUR new tantalizing steaks – Raising The Steaks. This promotions will only be running from 26 of May to13 July. 

Virgin Romaritas [RM14.90] – Original (Orange), Strawberry, Mango and Wild Berry

Starting up my dinner with Wild Berry Magaritas – oops, should be Wild Berry Romaritas. It was basically a mixture of wild berry, orange juice, lime sour mix and fresh lime juice. Perhaps, this Wild Berry Magaritas tasted like pink cough medicine and perhaps and little too sweet for me too. However, the other three Virgin Romaritas tasted fine.

Fillet Medallions with Mushroom Sauce [RM69.90]

Flame grilled fillet medallions topped with a rich mushroom sauce and a choice of two sides. The fillet medallions were tender, well marinated and unbelievably flavorsome. Surprisingly, the mushroom sauce really goes well with the medallions as the mushroom taste do not cover up the taste of medallions. Thumbs up!!!! – My favorite dish of the night.

Ribeye Steak with Roasted Onion Sauce [RM63.90]

The medium rare ribeye steak topped with homemade roasted onion sauce and a hint of lemon pepper. I couldn’t really taste the hint of lemon pepper and the homemade roasted onion sauce was kinda flavorless. However, the steak was very juicy.

New York Strip with Peppered Beef Bacon & Asparagus Relish [RM63.90]

You might need additional sauce at the side for the medium rare New York Strip which came quite dry and we are having hard time chewing it (kinda full of nerves). On the other hand, I really enjoyed the sweetness of the bursty little onion and asparagus relish really balance up the little tanginess of brown balsamic glaze – not to forget the peppered beef bacon as well.

New York Strip with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce [RM63.90]

The medium cooked steak topped with a creamy roasted red pepper sauce had firm texture and decent flavor. This dish really surprised me as I thought the slightly bitter and grassy taste of red pepper would overpower the sweetness of the meat itself. But I’m wrong – it really tasted good!!!!!!!!!

Overall Rating: 6/10. What I like about Tony Roma’s was that they do serve quality food and their portion was pretty generous (which is worth for the price). However, the menu that I sampled that was slightly out of my expectations – the steak’s marination probably needs a little modification. Again, Raising The Steaks promotion runs from 26 May to 13 July only. So hurry up!!!!!!!!
